Phrase কাকে বলে? Phrase চেনার সহজ উপায়
Phrase হল কতগুলো শব্দের সমষ্টি যে থাকে কোন সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া (finite verb) থাকে না। Phrase দিয়ে আলাদা কোন বাক্য গঠন করা যায় না কিন্তু phrase বাক্য গঠনে সাহায্য করে।

Noun Phrase কাকে বলে Noun Phrase এর উদাহরণ
যে Phrase বাক্যের মাঝে বসে Noun এর মত কাজ করে তাকে Noun Phrase বলে।
(A phrase that sits in the middle of a sentence and acts like a noun is called a noun phrase)
Noun Phrase are three in types:
Appositive Phrase কাকে বলে
A noun phrase that describes another noun is called an appositive phrase.
যে noun phrase আর একটি noun কে নতুন করে চিনিয়ে দেয় বা সেই noun সম্পর্কে বর্ণনা করে তাকে appositive phrase বলে।
Example:
Mr. Rahim, principal of PCB college, is delivering his speech.
Gerund Phrase কাকে বলে
যে noun phrase gerund (verb+ing) দিয়ে শুরু হয় হয় ,তাকে gerund phrase বলে।
(The noun phrase which starts with gerund is known as gerund phrase.)
Example-
The ringing of the phone at the time of playing badminton disturbs us much.
Infinitive Phrase কাকে বলে
যে noun phrase infinitive (to+verb) দিয়ে শুরু হয় ,তাকে infinitive phrase বলে।
(The noun phrase which starts with infinitive(to+verb) is called infinitive Phrase. )
Example- phrase চেনার উপায়
I love to listen to song.
Adjective Phrase কাকে বলে
যে phrase Adjective এর কাজ করে তাকে Adjective Phrase বলে।
(The phrase which acts as an adjective in a sentence is called Adjective Phrase)
Example-
*This rules is now null and void
* The boy in the studio is my friend.
*Puja gave me a cup full of tea.
Verb Phrase কাকে বলে
Verb phrase বাক্যে মূল ক্রিয়া (finite verb) এর কাজ করে । এই verb phrase সাধারণত এক বা একাধিক auxiliary verb নিয়ে গঠিত হয়।
(The phrase which consists of one or more verb and it’s had a finite verb is called verb phrase.)
Example-
He is singing a song
They are running to catch the thief.
He looks after his grandfather.
He has taken his final exam
Students must have to attend in class in just time.
Adverbial Phrase কাকে বলে
The Phrase which acts as an adverb in a sentence is called adverbial phrase.
(যে phrase কোন বাক্যে verb কে modify করে তাকে adverbial Phrase বলে।)
Example-
He was running very fast
We welcomed our guest in a nice way.
The kid sat beside her mother.
Prepositional Phrase কাকে বলে
The Phrase which has a preposition and acts as an adjective, adverb or noun in a sentence is called Prepositional phrase. Generally prepositional phrase starts with preposition and end with noun or pronoun.
যে phrase এর শুরুতে এক বা একাধিক preposition থাকে এবং যেটি একটি বাক্যে (sentence) এ adjective, adverb বা noun এর কাজ করে তাকে prepositional phrase বলে। সাধারণত: একটি prepositional phrase একটি preposition দিয়ে শুরু হয় এবং একটি noun বা pronoun দিয়ে শেষ হয়।
Example
- The freedom fighters sacrificed their life for the sake of the country.
- In the end, all we have to die.
- Ratan is on the way.
- By working aimlessly, nobody will get success.
- In spite of working hard, they can’t create any impact in the office.
Conjunctional phrase কাকে বলে
The phrase which acts as an conjunction in a sentence is called conjunctional phrase.
কোন বাক্যে একটি phrase যদি conjunction (দুটি বাক্যকে যুক্ত করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়) এর মত কাজ করে তবে তাকে conjunctional phrase বলে।
Example-
We have to work hard so that we can be successful in our lives.
We should do your task as early as possible to fulfil our target.
Please come to my office as quickly as you can.
Interjectional Phrase কাকে বলে
The phrase which functions like a interjection in a sentence is called interjectional phrase.
একটি Phrase যখন কোন বাক্যে interjection এর মত কাজ করে তখন তাকে Interjectional phrase বলে।
Example-
What a miracle! We have won the game.
My goodness! You have completed your task within a time.
For heaven’s sake! Don’t do like this, this will create problems in your life.

Absolute Phrase কাকে বলে
The phrase which has a subject but don’t have any finite verb and the phrase modify the whole sentences not only a noun or pronoun is called the absolute phrase.
যে Phrase একটি subject আছে কিন্তু কোন finite verb নাই , যা কোন নিদৃষ্ট noun or pronoun কে modify না করে সম্পূর্ণ বাক্যকেই মূল্যায়িত করে ,তবে তাকে Absolute phrase বলে।
Example-
At last, your father coming back to village, you can be able to tell him the truth of your activities.
Her arrival at the last hour, her father got relieved from tension.
